How does the TrafficSwarm "credit" system work exactly?

Credits are the backbone of the TrafficSwarm system. Users earn credits in a variety of ways, and/or purchase credits at very affordable rates. Each credit then results in the user's link(s) being displayed throughout the network in a variety of ways, which generates traffic to the users' site.
